Delivery & Returns

Bulky Goods – Delivery Vehicle Access

Bulky Goods – Delivery Vehicle Access

For bulky products such as packs of paving, composites, and artificial grass, our deliveries are made via a third-party haulier in a large lorry – typically an 18-ton HGV, but they can be as much as 26 tons.

These wagons are typically 10m long, 4m high, and 3m wide. They also require at least 2m of space at the rear for offloading.

Please ensure that the delivery point has ample access, is free of obstructions, and there is space or a route for the wagon to safely turn around.

Please ensure that we are made aware of any access issues when ordering to ensure that we can arrange delivery and to avoid any delays or re-delivery costs

Bulky Goods – Kerbside Delivery

Bulky Goods – Kerbside Delivery

Our deliveries of bulky products (paving, composites, artificial grass, etc.) are done so via third-party couriers based on delivery kerb-side only.

Should you wish for the driver to offload the goods on to your property, providing the conditions allow, this is done so at the full discretion of the driver and yourself.

As standard, drivers are not insured to enter your property and any delivery instructions which require the driver to do so are at the customers’ own risk. Landscaping Direct cannot be held responsible for any damages caused by deliveries made beyond kerb-side.

Bulky Goods – Offloading Paving

Bulky Goods – Offloading Paving

Paving is offloaded from the rear of the wagon using a tail-lift. The packs of paving are then wheeled into position via a manual pallet truck.

The pallet truck will only operate on a hard, level surface. It will not move on grass, gravel, or inclines. Please ensure that the surface of the delivery point is level and hard-standing to allow the paving to be maneuvered into position.

Please ensure that we are made aware of any offload issues in advance of your delivery to avoid any delays or additional costs.

Bulky Goods – Offloading Composite Decking, Cladding, and Fencing

Bulky Goods – Offloading Composite Decking, Cladding, and Fencing

Composite decking, cladding, and fencing are larger than a standard pallet and may require someone to help the driver offload safely and without damage.

Because lengths of decking and cladding are typically 3.6m, they cannot be handled like packs of paving with a pallet truck.

Therefore, we ask that someone capable be at the address on the day of delivery to assist the driver if required. This ensures that goods are offloaded safely and without damage.

Bulky Goods – Offloading Artificial Grass

Bulky Goods – Offloading Artificial Grass

Delivery of artificial grass depends on the size/weight of the roll. For heavier pieces, the rolls are typically delivered on a large wagon, offloaded kerbside using a winch.

For smaller/lighter sections of grass, delivery may be made via a large wagon and offloaded by hand.

Therefore, we ask that someone capable be at the address on the day of delivery to assist the driver if required. This ensures that goods are offloaded safely and without damage.

Ancillaries and Smaller Items – Delivery Vehicle

Ancillaries and Smaller Items – Delivery Vehicle

Jointing compounds, sealers, cleaners, geotextiles, fixings, and other ancillary products are typically transported in a van via a regular courier such as APC or Parcelforce, delivered straight to
your door.

Please advise in the delivery notes whether you are happy for the driver to leave the package in a safe place if you are not home. If you provide any instructions, e.g., “leave behind bin,” we will pass these on to the couriers. Otherwise, if unable to deliver, the driver may take the goods back to your local depot for you to collect.

For larger volumes/weights (e.g., 8+ tubs), deliveries may be sent via a pallet service instead and delivered via manual pump truck and tail offload, similar to how our paving is delivered.

Ancillaries and Smaller Items – Delivery of Mixed Baskets

Our products are held at and dispatched from different locations, so it is possible for different items on your order to arrive separately when mixing different brands of products such as Pavetuf, Azpects, Growtivation, or Raimondi.

You should receive tracking notifications for each consignment ahead of delivery so you know what to expect and when.

Failed delivery / Re-delivery

Failed delivery / Re-delivery

If the delivery could not be made due to your failure to advise of access issues, not being home to accept delivery or the conditions for offload not being suitable, then there may be re-delivery charges incurred for further delivery attempts.

If the delivery could not be made due to no fault of your own, such as road closures, vehicle breakdowns, etc. then you will be advised at the earliest opportunity and re-delivery will be re-scheduled at no further cost to yourself.
